Jung was interested in astrology, but could not make it work in his practice - too many moving parts.
Cognitive function elements s can certainly be assigned to planets and houses.
Aspects between planets also are important. Conjunctions are when planets are within 10 degrees of the circle with each other. Conjunctions activate and reinforce the planetary features and the sign(s) they are in. Sextiles are 60 degrees apart (give or take 5 degrees) They are weak positive relationships. Squares are 90 degrees apart (give or take 7 to 10 degrees) and show where energy and obstacles exist between planets. Trines are 120 degrees apart (give or take 7 to 10) and show harmony and ease. Oppositions are on the other side of the circle - opposites attract - and can either be activating and supporting - as well as opposing. It depends.
Trines are in the same element (mostly) and gender, Oppositions and squares are in the same nature. Sextiles are in the same gender but not the same nature.
Signs also have ruling planets and the house is aspected to where the ruling planet of the sign is in relations to the planet in the chart. This is probably where Jung threw up his hands and wrote the Red Book. They are more a memory tool than anything else.
